Yanbu Steel Company is a BS OHSAS 18001: 2007 certified Safety Management System. We advocates safety, considers safety a top priority in our daily activities. We always believe the three C’s of safety; Communication, Coordination, and Cooperation as the key to an effective safety performance. YSC has an average of 96.51% Project Safety Index (PSI) in the latest Audit by our Clients.

We continue to promote and maintain a high standard of safety by ensuring safe environment in places of our work. The safest construction method, proper care and maintenance to all construction equipments & tools are carried out in order to minimize personal injuries and property damages. Each employee is being told to follow all the safety rules & regulations during their Safety Induction.

Our employees are our most valuable resource and are at the core of YSC's achievements. We invest in the safety, health, development and training of our workforce to ensure that we attract and retain the most capable individuals. Yanbu Steel is committed to conducting business in a manner that protects and promotes the safety and health of our employees. These commitments are documented in our Safety, Health & Environmental Manual.

YSC Health, Safety & Environmental Manual has been produced and distributed to all in our management and supervisors, listing the responsibilities of various levels and employees as well. This manual specifies the procedures to be followed and this are continually under review and amended from time to time to comply with any changes in our CLIENT’s safety requirements. The implementation of this Program is the responsibility of all in management, Department Heads, Project Managers, Construction Managers, Site Superintendents, Site Engineers, Supervisors and Foreman.
Our corporate safety manager normally assign a site safety supervisor to oversee the entire health & safety operation for each project, there are safety  officers, safety inspectors and fire watchers under his direction & control who remain at the project site for the duration of the entire construction stage. He is responsible for coordinating all safety and health activities related to the projects. In addition, he also develops and assists sub-contractors and job supervisors in their implementation of sound safety and health practices. Our corporate safety manager constantly monitor and ensure that the assigned site safety supervisor is active in his duty and that Client’s are satisfied in his performance.
Yanbu Steel has always a provision of first aid station in our work site as well as in our fabrication shop having an adequate first aid supply and administered by our medical staff or nurse, likewise a dedicated emergency vehicle or ambulance is also provided with complete emergency facilities.
In order to maintain our safety awareness, YSC uses various means or method to promote safety. Parts of this program are placing safety posters, installation of warning safety signs & barricades. We are also implementing the Hazard Identification Plan (HIP), Job Safety Analysis (JSA) & Risk Assessment. Safety meetings are mandatory be held throughout the ranks in a weekly basis with construction superintendents, supervisors, foreman and crafts attending.

Ensuring the overall safety coverage of the entire company operation, a weekly safety inspection is conducted by our Safety Supervisors. The result of his inspection is issued to Construction Manager for information and immediate corrective action to any safety deficiencies found. Safety Inspectors on site are conducting daily site inspections in their respective areas; findings during their inspections are corrected on the spot. All safety inspections made are documented, filed and copied to our client when required.

Yanbu Steel Company remains steadfast in its commitment to protect the Environment. Waste Management Program is a part of our HSE Manual setting guidelines to control all kinds of construction waste and its disposal including sewage, hazardous waste and other pollutants. Housekeeping is a normal practice of our employees in their respective work locations; waste bins are being used and disposed off in a regular basis. We comply with all applicable laws and regulations in the protection of our Environment.
